Results: PDFNOTRE DAME, Ind. – Kicking off competition at the Indiana University Relays, the Notre Dame track and field team participated in a selection of events Friday evening in Bloomington. The Irish earned seven top-10 finishes on day one, as well as advanced a pair of individuals for a Saturday finals session.

Margaret Bamgbose, a senior from Evanston, Illinois, led the Irish in the women’s 200-meter dash with a fourth-place finish (24.44). Sophomore Parker English followed with a mark of 24.78 for eighth.

The men’s 600-meter run resulted with sixth-place showing afforded to sophomore Kirk Hansen. Hansen, a distance specialist from Lake Orion, Michigan, posted a career-best time of 1:20.61. Also representing the Irish men Friday evening were junior Harvey Smith and freshman Daniel Hardiman. Smith earned ninth in the 200-meter dash (22.05), while Hardiman claimed ninth in the shot put (14.34 meters).

In the women’s shot put event, junior Josephine Jackson registered a final mark of 14.46 meters for seventh. Also securing a top-10 mark was freshman Alexa Coubal (13.66 meters).

Kaila Barber, a graduate student from Middleburg Heights, Ohio, solidified her spot in finals of both the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash. Barber’s time of 8.31 in the 60-meter hurdles was the top time registered overall. Freshman Kyla Lewis will join Barber in finals of the 60-meter dash.

Notre Dame will return to Gladstein Fieldhouse for the day two of the Indiana University Relays on Saturday. Track and field events will run in succession beginning at 11 a.m. (ET).
