Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team shot a final round 302 (+14) Sunday at the seventh annual Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club (par 72, 6,184 yards). The Fighting Irish (296-290-302=888) finished fifth.

Junior Emma Albrecht and junior Maddie Rose Hamilton each finished in a tie for ninth place. Albrecht (76-68-75=219) and Rose Hamilton (70-74-75=219) both registered final round scores of 75. Freshman Abby Heck (75-75-75=225) recorded a 75 for the third consecutive day and finished tied for 29th.

Oklahoma (291-288-292=871) captured the team title, while Arizona State (287-288-298=873) placed second, Kentucky (293-293-295=881) third and Ohio State fourth (286-289-307-882).

The Sooners’ Julienne Soo took home medalist honors with a three-round total five-under par (72-71-68=211). Jaclyn Lee of Ohio State finished second, just one shot behind (72-69-71=212).


Thoughts on today’s round…
“We just didn’t put it all together today. The conditions were the toughest of the weekend with the increased wind. We just didn’t manage it as well as we needed to. It was disappointing because there was an opportunity to move up.”

“We will regroup over the next few weeks and get ready for the Wake Forest event. We had a great week of practice and look for the weather in South Bend to turn so we can get outside.”
