Women's Golf Finishes 12th At The Landfall Tradition

, N.C. — The Notre Dame women’s golf team shot a 14-over par 302 in the final round of play at the Landfall Tradition on Sunday to place 12th (303-293-302-898/+34). The tournament was played at the Country Club of Landfall on the Pete Dye Course (6,166 yards/par 72).

South Carolina (859/-5) and Wake Forest (859/-5) tied for first, followed by Furman (866/+2). Jennifer Kupcho of Wake Forest took individual medalist honors by shooting a nine-under par 207.

With the 12th-place finish, Notre Dame was able to earn wins over ACC foes Clemson (902/+38) and North Carolina (905/+41).

LEADING THE NOTRE DAME LINEUP

Senior Jordan Ferreira turned in her best round of the three-day tournament on Sunday, carding a one-over par 73 to finish tied for 33rd. On Sunday, her steady round included a birdie and two bogeys to go along with 15 pars.

It marked the third consecutive tournament this fall that Ferreira has been Notre Dame’s top finisher.

The Fighting Irish will be off now until the second semester, when they return to action at the Florida State Matchup on Feb. 10-12, 2017, which will be played at the Seminole Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida.
