Irish fans will be able to catch the top-ranked Notre Dame women's soccer team on television in upcoming games vs. Florida and Santa Clara.

Two Upcoming Irish Women's Soccer Games to Be Televised

Aug. 30, 2005

College Sports Television will kick off its 2005 women’s soccer coverage at Notre Dame, with delayed telecasts of both games on Friday, Sept. 2, in the Inn at Saint Mary’s Notre Dame Soccer Classic. The defending NCAA champs also will be showcased the following Friday (Sept. 9) in their game at Santa Clara, live on Comcast Sports Net West (plus delayed broadcasts on Comcast affiliates).

Notre Dame’s Alumni Field traditionally has been the site for one of the nation’s top women’s soccer tournaments and that certainly will be the case in 2005, as all four participants (Notre Dame, Florida, UConn and Maryland) are ranked in the current Soccer America top-25 national poll. CSTV will air delayed broadcasts of Friday’s UConn-Maryland game and the ND-Florida matchup.

CSTV’s schedule currently calls for two airings of the ND-Florida game: Sept. 5 at 8:00 p.m. EST (9:00 EDT/in New York) and Sept. 6 at 12:30 a.m. EST (1:30 in New York). Irish fans are encouraged to check their CSTV listings to confirm the upcoming rebroadcast times.

Comcast Sports Net West (now available on Direct TV channel 656, in addition to other availability) will air the Notre Dame-Santa Clara game live on Friday, Sept. 9, at 7:00 PDT (9:00 in South Bend). The game also will air on Comcast Sports Net Chicago (Direct TV 640, among others) on Sept. 10 at noon EST and will be rebroadcast later that day on CSNW (Sept. 10, 4:00 PDT/6:00 EST in South Bend). Again, Irish fans are urged to check their listings as various Comcast affiliates often pick up these games.

Check back to und.com in the days leading up to the ND-SCU game for espanded TV coverage of that game in the South Bend area (i.e. on Comcast Local or WHME).

Live internet audio of Notre Dame home games – and select road games – also will be available once again in 2005 (look for info. later this week on und.com).
