IRISH AND MUSTANGS SET FOR TELEVISED GAME ON CSTV – The top-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team (5-0-0) opened its Texas trip with a 2-0 win at TCU, as Michele Weissenhofer assisted on second-half header goals by Jill Krivacek and Brittany Bock … ND held TCU to four total shots and none on goal … the Irish racked up 11 corner kicks for the third time this season (plus a 9 CK game) … Sunday’s game at SMU (Sept. 10) will be telecast by CSTV on a delayed basis (Sept. 12; 8:00 and 11:30 EDT) … bonus live-audio coverage (free, as part of the new All-Access program) also will be provided on und.com, which likewise will include a GameTracker live-stat link … the ND Sports Hotline will have a postgame wrapup after every game (574-631-3000, then option 4 and then option 2) … Notre Dame is No. 1 in the NSCAA coaches poll for the seventh season in its history (also ’94, ’95, ’96, 2000, ’04 and ’05) … the Irish now are 52-5-2 when playing as the top-ranked team in the NSCAA poll (36-2-2 in the regular season) … ND is No. 1 in rankings by the NSCAA, Soccer Times (which polls 16 top coaches) and Soccer Buzz (women’s soccer website) while Soccer America has the Irish second and Florida State in the top spot … see www.smumustangs.com for info. on SMU.
