AS A SENIOR: Started the 4×400 relay and anchored the 4×100 relay at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships … recorded a time of 48.71 in the 400m dash at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships … ran the 200m dash at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, with a time of 21.81 … finished third overall in the 400m and 200m at the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational … first overall in the 400m and third in the 200m at the Purdue Mike Poehlein Invitational … ran the 400m, 200m and 4×400 relay at the Arizona State Invitational … scored points for the Irish in the 400m dash, 4×400 relay and 4×100 relay at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships … fifth overall in the 200m at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational … ran the 200m and 400m at the Indiana University Relays … third in the 60m dash, second in the 400m and a member of the first place 4x400m relay team at the Notre Dame Invitational … second at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open in the 200m dash … placed third in the 400m at the Blue & Gold Invitational … earned a monogram.

AS A JUNIOR: Focused mainly on the 400, 500, and 4×400 … opened the season running the 400 at the Blue and Gold Invitational in 49.34, good enough for a second-place finish … ran the 500, 400, and 4×400 at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener … clocked in at 49.16, placing fourth in the 400 at the Notre Dame Invitational and 3:16.46 in the 4×400 relay, placing second … ran the 400 in 49.21 and the 4×400 in 3:16.82, both good for third … an indoor personal-best was set at the Meyo Invitational while running the 400 in 48.92 … also ran the 500, clocking in at 1:03.96 … finished the indoor season running the 400 at the BIG EAST Championships in 49.73 … opened the outdoor season at the Purdue Invitational, stopping the clock at 49.31 to finish fifth while helping his 4×400 team take second in 3:17.56 … improved his times at the Border Battle the following week … placed fifth in the 400 (48.24), and second in the 4×400 (3:15.43) … ran the 400 at the Dave Rankin Invitational in 48.40, giving him a second-place finish (only 0.23 seconds behind the first-place finisher) … BIG EAST Outdoor Championships came with a season best in the 400, finishing in 48.07 … also ran the 4×400 for an eighth-place finish in 3:14.67, the fastest relay team he aided during the season.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Finished the season at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships with a 48.65 in the 400, which was his best time of the year … ran in the 4×400 relay in the Ole Miss Invitational, finishing in 3:16.17.

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in five meets for the Irish, running the 200 and 400 … ran the 400 (50.30) at the Blue and Gold Invitational … clocked in at 50.05 at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener … ran the 200 in 23.26 and the 400 in 50.53 at the Notre Dame Invitational … finished the 400 in 51.12 at the Indiana Relays … closed the season with a 400 time of 51.05 at the Meyo Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Attended Tom C. Clark (Texas), where he was a three-year letterwinner … competed in the 400 and 4×400 relay … district and regional finalist … lettered in football during his senior year … played wide receiver and defensive back … member of National Honor Society … born May 23, in Comfort, Texas … son of Ed and Carol Hitchler … the youngest of three children … graduated in May 2011 from the College of Engineering majoring in mechanical engineering.
