Senior captain Talia Campbell and the Fighting Irish will be in fourth place (286/+2) when the Schooner Fall Classic resumes Monday. Thunderstorms in central Oklahoma washed out Sunday's second round.

Second Round of Schooner Fall Classic Cancelled

Sept. 20, 2015

NORMAN, Okla. – Meteorologists were the only successful team during Sunday’s action at the Schooner Fall Classic, as persistent thunderstorms across the central Plains cancelled the second round of the 12-team tournament, which is being hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Belmar Golf Club (par 71/5,901 yards) in Norman, Oklahoma.

The tournament has been shortened to 36 holes, with the final round scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT (9:30 a.m. ET) Monday. Live scoring provided through the BirdieFire web site (birdiefire.com).

Notre Dame will tee off in fourth place after shooting 286 (+2) in the opening round on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Irish are 10 shots behind leader Oklahoma State (ranked ninth in the preseason Golfweek poll), but just three strokes back of runner-up Mississippi State.

Junior Jordan Ferreira (University Place, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) and freshman Emma Albrecht (Ormond Beach, Fla./Father Lopez) are Notre Dame’s top individuals thus far, currently tied for 12th place in the 66-person field after shooting even-par 71 on Saturday. Kansas’ Yupaporn Kawinpakom is the individual leader at 63 (+8), good for a two-stroke margin over her nearest challenger.

Senior captain Talia Campbell (Dallas, Texas/Ursuline Academy) and freshman Isabella DiLisio (Hatfield, Pa./Mount Saint Joseph Academy) are tied for 20th place at one-over par 72. Saturday’s score was the third consecutive round of 72 for Campbell, while DiLisio posted the lowest round of her young college career.

Sophomore Kari Bellville (Granger, Ind./Penn) is competing as an individual this weekend and carded a three-over par 74 on Saturday. Freshman Maddie Rose Hamilton (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) capped the Notre Dame starting lineup, presently tied for 43rd place at six-over par 77.
