Play Has Resumed In First Round Of 2005 NCAA Central Regional (UPDATE)

May 19, 2005

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Following a three-hour delay caused by thunderstorms in the South Bend area, play has resumed in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Central Regional on Thursday at the Warren Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus.

The first groups had just teed off at the first and 10th holes when the warning siren sounded at 7:18 a.m. (EST/CDT), calling the participants off the course. Notre Dame junior Mark Baldwin (Laconia, N.H./New Hampton Prep) was among the initial group that managed to get their tee shots in at No. 10 before the siren went off.

Because of the delay, afternoon tee times have been pushed back by approximately three hours, making it likely some competitors will not finish the first round on Thursday. Check back to und.com or the Notre Dame Sports Hotline (574-631-3000) for the latest updates on conditions at the Regional. Live scoring also is available at www.golfstat.com.
