Notre Dame Still In Third On Day Two Of Clover Cup

March 16, 2014

MESA, Ariz. — After day two of the Clover Cup, the Notre Dame women’s golf team has maintained its third-place standing in a field of 15. With a second day team score of 296, Notre Dame now has a total score of 595, eight above par.

Three Irish golfers–sophomore Talia Campbell, freshman Jordan Ferreira and junior Kelli Oride–improved upon their scores from day one. Campbell was even on the day, shooting one birdie and one bogey but otherwise making par on every single hole. Oride carded two birdies and shot a 75 (+3) on the day. Finally, Ferreira improved upon her +8 score from day one to a 77 (+3). She also had two birdies on the day.

After a four-below-par score and a first-place standing on the first day, senior Kristina Nhim shot even with par today, moving her to a tie for second place in the individual standings.

Tomorrow is the third and final day of the Clover Cup, and Notre Dame will need to overtake both Louisville and Colorado to win the tournament. Louisville is just four strokes ahead of the Irish, while Colorado is six ahead.

Results will once again be posted here at UND.com or at Golfstat.
