OXFORD, Miss. — The 18 teams of the Rebel Intercollegiate squeezed the two final rounds of the tournament in today. After the last hole, the University of Notre Dame women’s golf team found itself tied for 13th place with a score of 904 (+40).

The tournament was the last regular-season action that the Irish will see before moving on to their first ACC Championship in two weeks. Head coach Susan Holt knows there is still plenty to do to prepare for the post-season.

“We still have a lot of work to do,” Holt explained. “Everyone has their own things to work on and focus on the next week or so. We are making careless errors, which are costing us shots every round, and then we don’t capitalize on opportunities to get those shots back. It’s frustrating for sure, but if we can clean things up, it will be a step in the right direction.”

After leading the Irish on the first day, sophomore Talia Campbell continued as the strongest performer today, finishing the tournament with a five-above-par score of 221 (73-76-72). Junior Ashley Armstrong was five strokes behind her with a total of 226 (76-74-76).

Freshman Jordan Ferreira tied for 51st individually after she carded 227 on the weekend (74-77-76). Senior Kristina Nhim had a rough first two rounds but shot for just one above par in the final round today, totaling 230 (80-77-73). Finally, junior Kelli Oride shot for 242 (82-80-80).

The ACC Championship begins Thursday, April 17.
