LaKeysia Beene Named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I.– Notre Dame All-American goalkeeper LaKeysia Beene was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week on Monday for the first time this season. The junior posted two more shutouts this weekend against 21st-ranked Michigan and BIG EAST opponent St. Johns. Beene, who was voted preseason BIG EAST goalkeeper of the year, made three saves in the double overtime win at Michigan, including a save on a breakaway in the first sudden-death overtime period to keep the Irish alive. She had two saves against the Red Storm for her seventh solo shutout of the year to go along with five shared shutouts.

The fifth-ranked Irish close out the regular season this weekend at home against Wisconsin on Fri., Oct. 30, at 5:00 p.m., and Syracuse on Sun., Nov. 1, at 1:00 p.m.
