Irish Wrap Up Regular Season With Weekend At Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga. — The University of Notre Dame track and field teams wrapped up their regular season this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

The major highlight of the weekend was the performance of the women’s 4×400 relay team. Amber Lalla, Jade Barber, Michelle Rotondo and Margaret Bamgbose finished in first place with a time of 3:32.65, which is currently the 12th best time in the country so far this season.

Molly Seidel also had a first-place finish in the women’s 5,000m run with a time of 16:33.83, besting the ACC Champion in the event, Duke’s Juliet Bottorff. Mary Esther Gourdin placed fifth in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 12.49m, and Kaila Barber also placed fifth in the women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 58.63..

Nick Happe ran in the 1,500m run since he has already qualified for the NCAAs in the 5k. He placed fourth in the event with a time of 3:46.67. Dominick Padovano placed third in the men’s discus with a throw of 54.58m.

The Irish will have next weekend off before traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., for the NCAA Preliminaries in two weeks.
