POSTSEASON PUSH – The top-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team (17-0-1, 10-0-1 BIG EAST) embarks on its annual postseason quest at Alumni Field, with a BIG EAST quarterfinal vs. St. John’s on Sunday Oct. 29, at Alumni Field (1:00 p.m. EST) … ND ranks third nationally in avg. home attendance (2,350) and drew a total of nearly 12,000 fans for the final two home weekends of the regular season (4 gms) … ND owns a 39-3-0 all-time home record in postseason games … the Irish now have won 10 BIG EAST regular-season titles in the past 12 seasons (all but ’98 and ’02) and are looking to win their ninth BIG EAST tournament title (’95-’01, ’04) … if ND beats SJU, the Irish would face the winner of Sunday’s Villanova at Marquette quarterfinal in next week’s semifinals (at UConn; 4:30/live on ESPN-U) … Rutgers already has advanced to the semifinals (on PKs, after playing to a 0-0 score with UConn), with the other quarterfinal featuring Louisville at West Virginia.
