VILLANOVA, Pa. – The University of Notre Dame men’s track and field team is in second place with 47.5 points, while the women’s team is in eighth place with 18 points. Junior Maddie Buttinger picked up a second-place finish in the heptathlon, while Dan Jackson placed third in the 10,000-meter run in 29:45.78.

Women’s Results:

Heptathlon (800-meter run): Maddie Buttinger finished in second place in 2:18.58.

Heptathlon (Long Jump): Buttinger placed second (5.70m).

Heptathlon (Javelin Throw): Buttinger placed third (31.83m).

Heptathlon: Buttinger finished in second place with 5,403 points.

1,500-meter run (prelims): Rebecca Tracy was the first-place finisher in 4:28.16, followed by Kelly Curran in sixth place in 4:30.67. Meg Ryan finished 15th in 4:34.57. Tracy and Curran will run in the finals Sunday.

100-meter hurdles (prelims): Nevada Sorenson finished in fifth place to qualify for the finals on Sunday. Kali Watkins and Sasha Blanchard placed 12th (14.73) and 15th (14.89), respectively.

400-meter dash (prelims): Michelle Brown finished in fourth place in 54.66 and will run in the finals Sunday.

800-meter run (prelims): McKinzie Schulz finished in 10th place in 2:12.77, followed by Abby Higgins in 12th (2:13.09). Kelly Langhans finished in 15th place in 2:14.67 and Allison Schroeder finished 19th in 2:16.63.

400-meter hurdles (prelims): Megan Yanik was the first-place finisher in 1:00.48, while Sasha Blanchard finished in 10th place in 1:03.31.

200-meter dash (prelims): Michelle Brown finished in 16th place in 24.60.

3,000-meter steeplechase: Alexa Aragon finished in ninth place in 10:46.14 and Lindsey Ferguson placed 14th in 11:00.67.

10,000-meter run: Rachel Velarde finished in ninth place in 35:27.22 and Susanna Sullivan finished 11th in 36:14.90.

Javelin Throw: Amanda Chamblee placed eighth (41.12m) to score a point for the Irish.

Long Jump: Jasmine Williams placed seventh (5.81m) to score two points and Buttinger finished 15th (5.51m).

Shot Put: Rudy Atang was the fourth-place finisher (15.51m) and notched five points.

Pole Vault: Chrissy Finkel finished in 10th place (3.65m), followed by Kelly Burke in 12th place (3.65m). Annie Polcari finished 14th (3.50m) and Jessica Sullivan finished 17th (3.35m).

Men’s Results:

Decathlon (110-meter hurdles): Alex Bavis finished in sixth place in 16.71 and Dean Odegard was seventh in 17.15.

Decathlon (1,500-meter run): Odegard finished in first place in 4:26.99 and Bavis finished third in 4:47.36.

Decathlon (100-meter dash): Bavis finished in third place in 11.58, followed by Schneider in fifth place (11.79) and Odegard was the seventh-place finisher in 12.17.

Decathlon (Discus Throw): Odegard finished in third place (33.59m), followed by Schneider in fourth place (32.65m) and Bavis in seventh place (27.61m).

Decathlon (Pole Vault): Odegard finished in first place (4.46m) and Bavis was the sixth-place finisher (3.66m).

Decathlon (Javelin Throw): Schneider finished in fifth place (40.88m), followed by Bavis in seventh place (39.92m) and Odegard in eighth place (36.45m).

Decathlon: Baviswas the fourth-place finisher with 4,121 points and Odegard placed sixth (3,829 points).

1,500-meter run (prelims): Jeremy Rae claimed third place in 3:51.77, followed by Johnathan Shawel in seventh place in 3:52.67 and J.P. Malette in eighth place in 3:53.17. Jordan Carlson finished 13th in 3:53.81 and Spencer Carter placed 15th in 3:54.69. Rae, Shawel and Malette will run in the finals Sunday.

110-meter hurdles (prelims): Jarrod Buchanon was the ninth-place finisher in 15.01.

400-meter dash (prelims): Patrick Feeney was the first-place finisher in 47.67, while Edward Hitchler finished in seventh place in 48.20 and Brendan Dougherty placed eighth in 48.24 and all three sprinters will run in the finals.

100-meter dash (prelims): Miklos Szebeny finished second in 10.59 and will run in the finals.

800-meter run (prelims): Jack Howard placed first in 1:52.45, while Randall Babb and Kevin Labus finished in 11th place (1:54.06) and 12th place (1:54.16), in that order. Mitchell Lorenz placed 16th in 1:55.22. Howard will run in the finals on Sunday.

400-meter hurdles (prelims): Jarrod Buchanan placed ninth in 53.26 and Matthew Brown was the 13th-place finisher in 54.67.

200-meter dash (prelims): Miklos Szebeny finished in third place in 21.36 and Edward Hitchler was the 12th-place finisher in 21.81. Szebeny will compete in the finals Sunday.

3,000-meter steeplechase: Ryan Gamboa was the ninth-place finisher in 9:10.73 and Kelly Lynch finished 10th in 9:13.89. Johnathan Shawel finished 13th in 9:38.46 and Joe Miller was 14th in 9:42.37.

10,000-meter run: Dan Jackson finished third in 29:45.78 and Ryan Jacobs finished 11th in 31:20.66.

Shot Put: Denes Veres placed fourth (17.27m), followed by John Belcher in seventh place (16.43m) and Andrew Brock in ninth place (15.66m).

Long Jump: Logan Renwick finished in fifth place (7.26m) and added five points to the Irish score.

High Jump: Doug Onuscheck finished sixth (1.99m).
