UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team is in the Pacific northwest this week, getting ready to compete in the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course about an hour south of Seattle on the shores of Puget Sound.
The 18 teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes of competition on Tuesday. The Irish are paired for Monday with golfers from BYU, Campbell and Iowa State with shotgun start tee times beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
About the Course
Chambers Bay Golf Course played host to the 2015 U.S. Open, a dramatic finish which saw Jordan Spieth become the youngest U.S. Open winner since Bobby Jones, claiming the title by a single stroke over Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen. The links-style course will play as a 7,223-yard par-71 on Monday and a 7,057 par-70 on Tuesday.

Notre Dame will compete against 17 other teams this week: Alabama State, Arkansas Little Rock, BYU, Campbell, DePaul, Grand Canyon, Iowa State, Loyola Marymount, Northwestern, Ohio, Princeton, Sacred Heart, Santa Clara, Seattle, Stetson, TCU and UL-Monroe

The big news in the Irish lineup this weekend is the 2016-17 lineup debut of Kevin Conners in the fourth-spot. The team is seeded for this weekend as follows:

“The key for our guys this week will be to stay patient and manage any wind that comes up. Seaside, links type, golf will see some odd bounces from time to time but staying poised and realizing a few good breaks are coming your way too is a good approach.”
