Bauman Selected to Academic All-District Second Team

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Cross country and track student-athlete Becca Bauman has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Five Second Team, the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.

Bauman graduated in May with degrees in finance and psychology, while carrying a 3.66 cumulative grade-point average.

The Grand Rapids, Mich., native competed for the Irish at the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships and is a three-time BIG EAST cross country competitor. She qualified for the BIG EAST track and field championships on six different occasions and helped the Irish women win the 2007 BIG EAST outdoor title.

The cross country team captain is a three-time Dean’s List honoree and a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society. Bauman participated in Notre Dame’s Rosenthal Student-Athlete Leadership Academy and earned the Academic Excellence in Athletics Award. The three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star has volunteered with the Read to a Child Program, Gleaner’s Food Pantry and the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum.
