Bamgbose Places Sixth in 400 Meters At NCAA Indoors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Notre Dame track & field program completed its weekend at the NCAA DI Indoor Track and Field Championships as junior Margaret Bamgbose placed sixth in the women’s 400 meters at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas.

Bamgbose, who won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in the event two weeks ago and has twice broken the Notre Dame record this season, finished in a time of 52.65. In advancing to the finals and finishing among the top eight, Bamgbose earned her sixth career first-team All-America honor and the first in the indoor 400.

The Fighting Irish will return to the track in the outdoor season, beginning March 26-28 at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. The Irish are also scheduled to compete at the Bobcat Invitational March 27-28 in San Marcos, Texas.
