NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Following a solid regular season that saw the program ranked throughout the course of the spring, the No. 15 University of Notre Dame rowing team is in Clemson, South Carolina this weekend for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.

The Irish are making their third trip to the conference regatta after joining the ACC prior to the 2013-14 campaign. Notre Dame has finished second in the two previous years after tallying a remarkable 10-straight BIG EAST titles from 2004-13.

“We’ve done the training work. We’ve followed the plan,” said head coach Martin Stone. “It (This spring) was a pretty difficult race schedule so I think that’s prepared us. The goal is to make the NCAAs and we’ve been on the edge since we started racing in early March. It’s (ACC) going to be a difficult regatta, but I think we will rise to the challenge. Virginia is very fast. Syracuse is seeded ahead of us in all the events. Louisville is very good. Duke beat us in two of the events a couple of weeks ago. Clemson is the home team and anyone else can put together a great Friday night, Saturday morning. So we will need to put in a great effort and row our best. It’s going to be fun.”
