MADISON, Wis. – The Notre Dame women’s volleyball team came back from a two-game deficit, but were unable to win the match, losing in the rally-scoring fifth game 15-11. The Irish tied the match at 2-2 with a pair of 15-5 wins in the third and fourth games. The loss marked the first time since the 1996 NCAA loss against Ohio State that the Irish had not won a five game match.

Notre Dame’s next three matches will be at the Michigan State Tournament next weekend, Sept. 18-19. The Irish will face New Hampshire on Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. and play Utah (10 a.m.) and Michigan State (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
