Senior Sarah Scaringe advanced into the main draw of singles, while senior Kelly Lindsey, junior Kim Guy, sophomore Lindsey Green and freshman Katie Cunha all advanced into the main draw of doubles on the final day of qualifying at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Region Singles and Doubles Championships at Ohio State. Scaringe beat Indiana?s Jessica Levin 6-1, 6-1 to set up a first-round main-draw match against Ohio State?s Kristy Dascoli on Friday. Guy lost 6-3, 6-4 to Ohio State?s Sadhaf Pervez and Cunha lost 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to Northwestern?s Jennifer Lutgert in final round of singles qualifying.

Cunha and Guy then teamed to beat Wisconsin?s Tranquada and Vijnov 8-2 and Lutgert and Piriou 8-3 to reach the doubles main draw where they will face Marquette?s Fernandez and Garcia in the first round. Green and Zalinski beat Iqbal and Walgenbach 8-4 before falling 8-6 to Field and Levin of Indiana. Despite the loss, Green and Zalinski earned a spot in the main draw when another team withdrew from the field, pitting them against Minnesota?s Sauska and Simonsen.

Irish junior All-American Michelle Dasso is seeded first in the 64-player singles main draw, while sophomore Becky Varnum is the fourth seed. Zalinski is a Nos. 5-8 seed. Green and sophomore Nina Vaughan also qualified directly into the main singles draw. They will play their first singles matches on Friday. Dasso and Varnum are seeded No. 5-8 in doubles and also will open Friday.
