Women's Lacrosse Set To Open Fall Schedule

Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse coach Tracy Coyne has announced her team’s 2004 fall schedule. The schedule includes three road games, participation in a four-team tournament and a game at home versus the Notre Dame alumni on Friday, October 8 at Moose Krause Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The Irish open their schedule this weekend on Sunday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to face Hofstra in a 12:00 noon (EDT) contest at James M. Shuart Stadium.

Game two of the fall schedule will come on Oct. 8 versus the Irish alumni as part of the Stanford football weekend. The Alumni game will be played a 7:30 p.m.

Over the fall break, Notre Dame will travel to Denver, Colo., to participate in a five-team tournament on Sunday, Oct. 17 with the University of Denver, Regis University, the University of Oregon and the University of Connecticut. The round-robin tournament will feature 30-minute games throughout the day.

Following the tournament, the Irish will remain in Denver to face the University of Denver in a single game on Monday, Oct. 18. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. (MDT).

Notre Dame then closes the fall schedule on Saturday, Oct. 30 when the Irish travel to State College, Pa., to face the Penn State Nittany Lions in a 12:00 noon (EDT) game at Jeffrey Field on the Penn State campus.

The Irish were 12-5 during the 2004 season and advanced to their second NCAA tournament bid. They finished the year ranked ninth in the nation in the IWLCA coaches’ poll.
