Women's Golf Set To Compete At The Landfall Tradition

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team will compete at The Landfall Tradition tournament from Fri., Oct. 22 through Sun., Oct. 24 at the Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C.

The University of North Carolina at Wilmington is hosting the three-day event on the 6,246-yard course, which will serve as the 2010 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship site.

Competing for the Irish are seniors So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/ Bradenton Preparatory Academy) and Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) and junior Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton).

Rounding out the Irish line-up are freshmen Nicole Zhang (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Carroll), who is currently ranked 12th and Kristina Nhim (Cypress, Calif./Cypress).

COMPETITION: Among the 18-team field this weekend are fourth ranked UCLA, Duke (5) and Virginia (8).

Top-ranked individuals include Lindy Duncan of Duke who is ranked eighth, Virginia’s Brittany Altomare is 10th, while Nicole Zhang (12) of Notre Dame, Virginia’s Carlie Nielson (17) and Michelle Shin of Wake Forest (19).

FORMAT: The teams will play 18 holes daily, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start scheduled for Sunday’s big finale.
