Williams Named to Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll following his performance in the 27-13 win over Purdue on Saturday.

Williams led the Irish with 168 all-purpose yards against the Boilermakers, which was the most by an Irish player in a game in 2021 and the third highest of his career. He put the Irish in front after breaking off a 39-yard touchdown reception on fourth-and-three in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, Williams sealed the win with a 51-yard rushing touchdown to put Notre Dame up by two touchdowns. It was the longest rush by an Irish player this season.

His performance against the Boilermakers was just the second time in his career he had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game. He currently ranks 20th in the country with 133.3 all-purpose yards per game.
