Notre Dame, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team had three more swimmers qualify tonight for the 2004 BIG EAST Championships, raising the overall total to 26, in time trials competed as part of the Notre Dame men’s swimming meet against Cleveland State at the Rolfs Aquatics Center.

Freshman Krissy Archer qualified for the meet by swimming an “A” time in the 50 freestyle. Archer’s time of 24.36 was well below the needed 24.47 mark. In the 100 freestyle, freshman Meghan Linnelli qualified with a time of 52.69, while senior Lisa D’Olier made the “A” cut with a time of 57.65 in the 100 butterfly.

The Irish close out the regular season with a dual meet against Oakland at 1:00 p.m. at the Rolfs Aquatics Center, before heading to the BIG EAST Championships Thursday-Saturday, February 19-21, in Uniondale, N.Y. Notre Dame is looking for its eighth straight victory in the team races and is hoping to improve on the six BIG EAST titles won at the 2003 meet.
