Three Former Irish Stars Selected In MLL Supplemental Draft

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Former University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse standouts Kevin Ridgway (D), Neal Hicks (A) and Joey Kemp (G) were selected in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Supplemental Draft. All three were four-time monogram recipients during their Fighting Irish careers.

The Long Island Lizards selected Ridgway with the fifth overall pick in the first round. Ridgway appeared in 56 games for the Fighting Irish from 2008-11. He was a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America honoree. He was on the USILA All-America First Team as a senior.

Hicks went to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the eighth round (64th overall). He tallied 100 points on 61 goals and 39 assists for the Irish from 2007-10. Hicks notched four goals in a 12-7 win over Cornell in the semifinals of the 2010 NCAA Championship.

The Lizards picked Kemp in the ninth round (69th overall). Kemp was a four-year starter and three-time USILA All-America honoree in goal from 2005-08. He earned first-team All-America honors as a senior.

The MLL Supplemental Draft consisted of 12 rounds and 96 total selections.
