Three Former Irish Standouts To Play In MLL All-Star Game

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Three University of Notre Dame former men’s lacrosse greats have been selected to suit up in the 2018 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game. Matt Landis ’16 and Sergio Perkovic ’17 will play for the MLL team and Matt Kavanagh ’16 will don the Red, White and Blue for Team USA.

The game will be played in Boston at 7 p.m. on June 28 at Harvard Stadium.

Kavanagh will represent the U.S. National Team in the game, as he is currently an alternate for the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championship that will be played in Israel later this summer. The Rockville Centre, New York, native is enjoying his best season in the MLL in 2018, as he has 23 goals and eight assists for the Denver Outlaws, ranking tied for third in goals scored. 

Landis is working his way back from an injury and has played in four games this season for the New York Lizards. The defenseman has caused two turnovers and scooped up 12 ground balls on the year.

Perkovic is tied for fourth on the Boston Cannons for points this season with 12 in the six games he has played. The midfielder has nine goals and three assists during the 2018 campaign.
