Tagovailoa-Amosa Named a Nominee for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Graduate student Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa earned a nomination to Allstate’s 30th AFCA Good Works Team®, which honors a college football player who is actively involved in his community, committed in the classroom and impactful on the field.

Tagovailoa-Amosa has maintained a commitment to civic involvement, as one of his most impactful activities to date has been taking part and helping organize Notre Dame’s first-ever Juneteenth Rally, which was held in 2020. He opened the Rally, sharing the importance of celebrating the day, and led the more than 1,500 people in attendance in prayer.

He has taken part in activities such as Notre Dame Football 101, which benefits the Kelly Cares Foundation. Tagovailoa-Amosa has also been active in Uplifting Athletes’ annual bowling event and the Notre Dame Football Shop-with-a-Player event, which matches an Irish football player with a local family in need of assistance during the holiday season. Additionally, he has volunteered at Lift for Life and Kindness to Prevent Blindness events, as well as being active in the Notre Dame Athletics annual Halloween event with local children and their families.

Tagovailoa-Amosa earned All-ACC Second Team honors in 2020, after a season in which he totaled 17 tackles, 6.0 TFL (loss of 21 yards) and 2.5 sacks. He also recovered two fumbles and forced a fumble. He was named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-Independent First Team in 2020, and was a Piesman Trophy Finalist in 2019.
