The Notre Dame baseball team’s doubleheader at Rutgers on Saturday, April 28, will start one hour later than originally scheduled, with first pitch now set for 1:00 p.m. EDT. The start was pushed back due to travel delays for the Irish, who ultimately departed Chicago O’Hare Airport at 9:15 p.m. CDT, headed for Newark and then on to Piscataway. Both games will be nine innings.

Due to University of Notre Dame policy governing its athletics programs, teams can miss a total of three M-W-F classes and three T-T classes through the course of the entire semester. The Irish already have spent a total of 30 days on the road this season (including travel days) – with most of that travel falling on weekends, spring break and departure days in which the players attended class prior to late-night flights or bus trips.
