AS A JUNIOR (2017-18):

    •    Recipient of the Fight For It Award, given to the swimmer or diver who best exemplifies a strong desire to fight for their teammates in and out of the pool.
    •    Earned a career-best finish in the ACC Championships with a fifth-place result of 1:57.17 in the 200 butterfly. Set a program record of 1:56.38 in the 200 fly during the morning prelim session.
    •    Runner-up in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.46 against Ball State and Green Bay.
    •    Placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.66 as part of a victorious Notre Dame weekend in the Shamrock Invitational.
    •    First to the wall in the 200 butterfly in 1:59.78, adding a runner-up time of 2:04.98 in the 200 IM against No. 25 Florida State.
    •    Top finisher in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.33, to go along with a second-place result in the 200 IM (2:06.43) and third place in the 100 IM (:57.60) against Iowa and Illinois.
    •    Placed second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:57.01 at the Ohio State Fall Open Invitational.
    •    Runner-up in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.41, adding a fourth-place result in 2:06.74 in the 200 IM against No. 16 Purdue.
    •    Winner in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.64 in an ACC dual against Georgia Tech.
    •    Third place in both the 200 butterfly (1:59.66) and the 200 IM (2:04.81), with a fourth-place result in the 400 IM (4:27.75) against Michigan State and No. 5 Texas A&M.
    •    Runner-up in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.50, and finished fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.09 in an upset of No. 9 Louisville.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17):

    •    Returned to the ACC Championships and posted a top finish of eighth place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:56.82.
    •    Runner-up in the 100 butterfly (:54.72) and the 200 butterfly (1:59.98) during the Shamrock Invitational.
    •    Finished third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.62 against Indiana State and IUPUI.
    •    Claimed second place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:59.81 versus ACC foe Louisville.
    •    Double-winner in the 100 butterfly (:55.10) and the 200 butterfly (2:00.28) in a dual against Northwestern, adding a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:06.29).
    •    Raced to the wall with a winning time of 1:59.36 in the 200 butterfly against Iowa and Illinois.
    •    Placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.02 in an ACC tri-dual against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.
    •    First-place finisher in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:59.61 against Miami (Fla.), Purdue and Rutgers.
    •    Double-winner in the 100 butterfly (:54.96) and the 200 butterfly (2:00.35), along with a runner-up finish in the 200 IM (2:04.91) against Georgia Tech.
    •    Top finisher in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.40 against Indiana State and Oakland.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16):

    •    Swam at ACC Championships, clocking in at :55.05 in 100 butterfly and finishing 15th in 200 butterfly (2:00.92 finals, 1:59.71 prelims).
    •    Began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, swimming on first-place 300 butterfly relay (:56.84 split), third-place 400 IM relay (:59.94 leadoff split), sixth-place 200 medley relay (:25.65 split) and exhibitioning with 400 medley relay (:57.11 split). 
    •    At Florida Gulf Coast, came in second in 200 butterfly (2:02.72) and fourth with 200 medley relay (:25.32 split).
    •    Against Michigan State, won 200 butterfly race (2:04.16) and came in second in 400 IM (4:30.70) and 400 medley relay (:56.48 split).
    •    At Purdue against the Boilermakers and Ohio State, earned sixth place on 200 medley relay (:25.68 split), seventh in 200 butterfly (2:03.62) and 11th in 100 butterfly (:57.75).
    •    At Virginia Tech, came in third in 200 butterfly (2:03.80), fifth on 400 medley relay (:57.38 split) and 400 freestyle relay (:53.21 split), sixth on 200 medley relay (:25.22 split), eighth in 400 IM (4:30.48) and ninth in 200 IM (2:10.77).
    •    At Purdue Invitational, swam on four relays and dove in four times as an individual entrant.
    •    Appeared on the lineup in the 200 freestyle relay (:24.12 leadoff split), 400 medley relay (:54.07 split), 200 medley relay (:24.08 split) and 400 freestyle relay (:52.72 split).
    •    Touched the wall sixth in 200 IM (2:03.37 finals, 2:03.30 prelims), third in 400 IM (4:18.28 finals, 4:20.49 prelims), fourth in 100 butterfly (:53.92 finals, :54.13 prelims) and second in 200 butterfly (1:57.54 finals, 1:58.74 prelims).
    •    At Virginia, logged two runner-up finishes in 400 IM (4:35.41) and on 400 free relay (:55.47 split).
    •    Also came in fourth on 200 freestyle relay (:24.78 split) and in 200 butterfly (2:04.40), fifth with 200 medley relay (:25.74 split), sixth with 400 medley relay (:57.08 split) and seventh in 100 butterfly (:57.71).
    •    Versus Northwestern, won 200 butterfly (2:01.33) and came in third in 200 medley relay (:24.46 split), fourth in 200 IM (2:07.26) and sixth in 100 freestyle (:53.26).
    •    In Shamrock Invitational, again swam with four relays and in four individual races.
    •    Emerged victorious in 200 butterfly (2:02.06) and tied for third in 100 butterfly (:56.06).
    •    Came in fourth twice (400 IM, 4:28.54, 400 medley relay, :56.77 split).
    •    Finished fifth on 400 freestyle relay (:54.20 leadoff split) and took sixth in 200 medley relay (:25.66 split), seventh in 200 freestyle relay and 10th in 200 IM (2:08.11).

PREP & PERSONAL:

    •    Graduated from Munster High School (Indiana) in the spring of 2015.
    •    Earned four letters in swimming.
    •    Versatile swimmer who can swim the freestyle, butterfly and individual medley strokes.
    •    Was a nine-time All-American, a three-time Scholar Athlete and a two-time Scholastic All-American.
    •    Helped squad win conference championship three straight years.
    •    Best times include :53.48 in the 100 butterfly, 4:53.72 in the 500 freestyle, :23.86 in the 50 freestyle, 1:59.96 in the 200 IM and 1:59.40 in the 200 butterfly.
    •    Named a Scholastic All-American as a senior in addition to tallying All-America accolades in the 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
    •    Selected as the team MVP during final campaign.
    •    Named a team captain as a junior and senior.
    •    Placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (:53.81), sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:53.72) and seventh in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays at the state meet as a junior.
    •    Named all-conference and earned team MVP.
    •    Earned All-America honors in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays as a sophomore.
    •    Placed fifth in the 100 butterfly and ninth in the 200 IM at the state meet.
    •    Named all-conference, team MVP and The Times Swimmer of the Year.
    •    Earned All-America honors in the 200 medley relay and was ranked ninth nationally as a freshman.

    •    Won state titles in the 200 and 400 IM and the 100 butterfly at the 2012 Indiana Age Group State Championships.

    •    Broke the Indiana Association record in the 200 butterfly in 2014.

    •    Nicole Eileen Smith was born in Hammond, Indiana to Timothy and Patti Smith.
    •    Has two older brothers, Jacob and Sam.
