AS A SENIOR (2012):NFCA Great Lakes all-region second team selection … named to the all-BIG EAST first team … ranked second on the Irish in hits (58), doubles (10) and runs scored (42) … drew a team-high 26 walks, adding to club-best .420 on-base percentage … added seven home runs, 28 RBI and eight stolen bases in 10 attempts … led all Notre Dame batters with 20 multi-hit games … went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored against UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 18) … blasted a home run in three straight games against Boise State (Feb. 19), Penn State (Feb. 25) and North Carolina (Feb. 25) … batted at a .500 clip (5-for-10) and added four RBI during the home run streak … 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a steal in a win over LIU Brooklyn (March 3) … contributed two hits and a pair of RBI in game two of a doubleheader against Toledo (March 28) … stroked an RBI double that provided the winning margin at Purdue (April 5) … reached base in all three plate appearances, scoring two runs in game two of a doubleheader against DePaul (April 21) … smashed two home runs, drove in four runs and scored three runs in the series finale against Providence (April 29) … went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs scored against Eastern Michigan (May 2) … finished the season with an RBI in each of the final five games … multi-hit efforts during the NCAA Regional round against Hawai[apos]i (May 18) and North Dakota State (May 19).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2010):First team all-BIG EAST … solid across the board with eight doubles, five triples and five home runs for a .344 batting average and .608 slugging pct. in league play … boosted those numbers from a freshman year that saw her hit .207 with a .284 slugging pct. … did not commit an error in the outfield in 68 chances (also added three assists) … hit .340 on the season with a .574 slugging pct. … reached base on a .416 clip … second on the squad with five triples (ranked 35th nationally) … just missed out on a home run against Oregon (Feb. 12), legging out the longball to right field for her third career triple … posted three two-hit efforts at the Cavalier Invite (Feb. 26-27), totaling four RBI, two doubles and two triples in the four games … scored twice against George Washington (Feb. 27) … hit first career home run against East Tennessee State (March 6) … back-to-back two-hit performances against UC Riverside (March 7) and CS Northridge (March 10) … also drove in two runs with a double against the Highlanders … hit a solo home run against Toledo (March 24) and another two days later at Seton Hall (March 27) … 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double and three runs scored in the series finale with the Pirates … scored eight runs in a five-game stretch from March 24-28 … stole one base and scored once in back-to-back games against Rutgers (April 1-3) … started an inning-ending double play against USF (April 10), firing a strike to home plate from centerfield to gun down a Bull runner trying to score with the bases loaded … posted three singles in three games against USF (April 10-11) … one double, one run and one RBI against Georgetown (April 14) … walked twice at Louisville (April 17) … could not have asked for more during a doubleheader with Villanova (April 24) as she notched five hits in five trips to the plate, hit for the cycle on the day, drove in four runs, scored four more, ended game two with a three-run dinger, and set new career single-game highs in hits (three) and RBI (three) … after Notre Dame[apos]s contest earlier this season against Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 21), she sat at 3-for-23 (.130) on the season and was hitting .194 (27-for-139) for her career … but in the next 38 games since that day, she batted.404 (36-for-89) with 27 runs scored, 14 extra base hits – including all four of her career home runs – and 19 RBI … scored twice against Bowling Green (April 28) … belted a solo home run at St. John[apos]s (May 9) … had two hits against Providence (May 13) at the BIG EAST Tournament.

AS A FRESHMAN (2009):Solid outfielder who displayed incredible athleticism on both offense and defense … started 50 of 54 games played … broke loose with a coming-out party at Stanford[apos]s Nike Invitational (Feb. 20-21) … after not recording a single hit in her first four games with the Irish, went 5-for-10 with a pair of multi-hit affairs against Stanford and Sacramento State … she scored a pair of runs and hit two triples over the four-game stretch at The Farm … started the first leg of a game-ending triple play against UC Santa Barbara (March 8), the only triple play in school history … also had two stolen bases in that game … doubled against UNLV (March 8) and Penn State (March 12) … scored twice versus Pacific (March 13) and Toledo (March 18) … 1-for-1 with a double and run scored in game one against DePaul (April 8), then went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in game two … knocked in a pair of scores with a stolen base while scoring once against Villanova (April 18) … two hits and one run scored against North Dakota State (April 22) … finished with a .207 batting average … .284 slugging percentage and .288 on-base percentage … 22 runs … 24 hits … seven RBI and five doubles … six stolen bases … eight sacrifices, two of which came against Louisville (May 3) … recorded 41 putouts and five assists from the field.

PREP AND PERSONAL:Considered one of the top prep athletes not only in the state of New Jersey but the entire East coast, according to Rivals.com, Maldonado began playing softball upon entering high school … she had played competitive baseball up to that point … prepped at Millburn (N.J.) where she was a four-time letterwinner in softball and basketball … two-time team captain, three-time team MVP and all-conference softball performer … first-team all-state choice in 2008, when she was also Millburn[apos]s athlete of the year … third-team all-state choice in basketball in 2008 … basketball program[apos]s all-time leading scorer … first-team all-county choice in 2007 when she exploded for an eye-opening 1.216 slugging percentage and her 12 school-record home runs led all players in Essex County while distinguishing herself as one of the top position players in the country … an all-state selection as a junior after leading Millburn to an 18-9 record and an appearance in the second round of the state playoffs … hit .608 with a .707 on-base percentage and drove in 39 runs as a junior, when she also made the most out of her time on the base paths by stealing 19 bags and crossed the plate 42 times … to begin the 2007 season, she homered in the first at-bat in each of her opening four contests from the leadoff spot in the lineup … two-time team MVP and all-conference performer on the hardwood … the New Jersey Star-Ledger noted that her half-court heave – which netted three of her game-high 25 points – at the end of the third quarter against West Milford during her junior hoops season was the paper[apos]s shot of the year … at the NFCA camp held during summer 2007, she had the fastest 30-yard dash time (3.88) out of the 450 participants … active in her local community by singing in Millburn[apos]s chorus, and is a member of the St. Rose of Lima youth group … starting pitcher for her 12-year old boy[apos]s all-star team … daughter of Gina and Frank Maldonado … father played baseball for Manhattan College … born Sept. 4, 1990 … has three brothers: Frank, Nicholas and Christopher … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as a marketing major.
