AS A SENIOR (2009): Cemented her role as the go-to Irish pinch-runner for the 2009 season … saw action in 54 games … checked in against No. 9 Oklahoma (March 12) and collected three bases and a run en route to the Irish upset victory … saw action against BIG EAST foe Villanova (April 18) by stealing a base and scoring in Notre Dame[apos]s 3-0 victory against the Wildcats … recorded a run scored in both games of a doubleheader against Providence (April 30), the first of which came by way of a Dani Miller grand slam which propelled the Irish in a 9-1 five-inning romp … scored the go-ahead run against Cleveland State (May 15) in Notre Dame[apos]s 3-1 opening round win in the NCAA Tournament … recorded her team-best 13th stolen base against No. 7 Michigan (May 16) in the NCAA Tournament … caught stealing only twice and finished the season with 13 stolen bases and 23 runs scored

AS A JUNIOR (2008): Evolved into a solid pinch runner for the Irish while filling in from the circle when called upon … stepped in against Pacific (March 1) in a late-game relief effort to register her first action of the season from the circle … retired the side – including a strikeout – in 1.0 inning to secure Notre Dame[apos]s 11-3 win against the Tigers … closed the door on Towson (March 14) in a combined shutout effort with Brittney Bargar … pitched 2.0 frames of scoreless ball and fanned one of the nine batters faced … surrendered only one hit during that appearance … walked one batter during 1.0 scoreless inning in the circle against Eastern Michigan (April 9) … Notre Dame out-scored its opponents by a 28-4 margin during her appearances on the rubber … saw action as a pinch runner at DePaul (March 30) and stole a base against the Blue Demons … continued to help the Irish on the paths by scoring runs against Wisconsin (April 16), Providence (April 26) and Valparaiso (April 29) … checked in against Kent State during the NCAA Regional to score a run in the season finale.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2007): Made her Irish debut with 1.0 inning of work against California (Feb. 23) … gave up one run with two walks and a strikeout during that frame … stayed in the circle for 3.0 innings against Jacksonville (March 2) … gave up four hits and a pair of runs – one earned – and struck out a pair over that stretch … the effort helped her earn the first save of her career … faced a pair of batters when Notre Dame battled Pacific (March 17) … punched in 1.0 inning of action against both Syracuse (April 1) and Rutgers (May 5) … totaled 6.0 frames on the season, four strikeouts, and surrendered only seven hits … did not allow a single hit to go for extra bases.

AS A FRESHMAN (2006): Did not see action during her first season with the Irish, as she recovered from off-season surgery.

THE FARRELL FILE: Played her prep ball at Sonora (La Habra, Calif.) while earning four letters in softball … a four-time all-conference selection as a pitcher … the 2004-05 All-Freeway League Girls Athlete of the Year … led her team to three consecutive Freeway League championships … three-time team MVP … pitched every inning of her team[apos]s 2004 softball season, totaling 227.0 innings … wrapped up that season with a 0.03 ERA with 319 strikeouts … the season was highlighted by a pair of perfect games and four no-hitters … set Sonora records for career and single-season ERA, career and single-season strikeouts, and career and single-season wins … competed in the North-South All-Star Game and the Whittier Rotary Club All-Star Game … also competed in volleyball, earning three letters as a middle blocker … member of the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation and Key Club … from the same high school as 2005 graduate and former Irish pitcher Carrie Wisen … daughter of Sharon and Douglas Farrell … oldest of two daughters … has one sister, Kelsey … mother played softball at Chapman … born May 18, 1987, in Fullerton, Calif. … graduated from the College of Art & Letters with degrees in sociology and psychology.
