AS A SOPHOMORE (2012): Played in 14 games and split the team’s faceoff duties … was 94-for-189 (.497) in faceoff attempts … scooped up a team-best 43 ground balls … posted four points on three goals and one assist … attempted seven shots … was 6-for-11 in faceoffs in the 7-3 season-opening win over Duke … scored his first career goal in an 8-7 win at Ohio State … the tally against the Buckeyes put the Irish up 8-6 with 2:15 left to play … netted a goal and picked up four ground balls in a 12-9 win over Rutgers … made it three straight games with a goal as he deposited a tally in a 13-6 win over St. John’s at the Big City Classic … went 9-for-16 in faceoffs against the Red Storm in addition to scooping up four ground balls … matched a career-high total of eight ground balls and won a season-high 14 faceoffs (on 18 attempts) in an 8-7 setback to St. John’s in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship … won faceoff attempts and assisted on a goal in a 7-5 loss to Loyola in the semifinals of the NCAA Championship … also had four ground balls versus Loyola … earned his second monogram.
