FIFTH-YEAR SEASON (2011-12):

Started all 33 games that he played … named the Notre Dame Monogram Club Team MVP … served as a team captain … averaged 9.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game … the rebound average was a career-best mark and ranked third among all Irish players … had 55 assists, 12 blocked shots and 30 steals … averaged 34.7 minutes per game … scored in double-figures 17 times and notched three double-doubles … led the Fighting Irish in scoring in three games and was the leading rebounder seven times … registered a team-high steal total on seven occasions and led the squad in blocked shots four times … averaged 9.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in BIG EAST play … scored a career-high 23 points versus Delaware State … knocked down a career-high four three-pointers (on nine attempts) against Delaware State … only game he missed all season was against Dartmouth … tied a career-best mark with three blocked shots versus Indiana … first double-double of the season was an 11-point, 12-rebound effort in helping the Irish to a 67-65 double-overtime victory at Louisville … played a career-high 48 minutes against the Cardinals … made it two straight double-doubles with 15 points and a career-high 13 boards in a 60-49 win over USF … tallied 13 points, six rebounds and three assists in the 67-58 upset of No. 1 Syracuse … that was his fifth straight double-digit scoring performance … matched a career-high total with four steals in Notre Dame’s 74-70 comeback overtime victory at Villanova … also matched a season-high total of four assists in the Villanova contest … made a career-high nine field goals (on 15 attempts) and finished with 18 points at St. John’s … scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 57-53 overtime triumph of USF in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championship … registered 11 points and seven boards against Xavier in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
