JUNIOR SEASON (2018)

  • Took over as the starting quarterback at Wake Forest
  • Finished the regular season 197-280 (70.4) for 19 TDs passing, while rushing 78 times for 250 yards and four TDs
  • Ranks sixth nationally with a 70.4 completion percentage and eight in pass efficiency (end of regular season)
  • First FBS QB to win his first five starts of a season with a completion percentage over 70% in each game since Russell Wilson at Wisconsin in 2011
  • Named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 List after going 25-for-34 for 325 yards and two TDs passing while adding three rushing TDs at Wake Forest
  • Named Davey O’Brien QB of the Week, Manning Award Star of the Week and Maxwell Award Player of the Week after win over No. 7 Stanford (24-for-33 for 278 yards and four TDs)

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2017)

  • Played in 10 games, primarily as the backup quarterback, but did start for injured Brandon Wimbush at North Carolina (Oct. 7)
  • Came off the bench to help the Irish rally past No. 17 LSU, 21-17, in the 2018 Citrus Bowl
  • Completed 46 of 75 passes for 456 yards and four TDs
  • Rushed for 207 yards on 37 carries
  • Went 14 of 19 for 164 yards with two fourth-quarter TD passes in the postseason victory over the Tigers
  • With Notre Dame trailing LSU, 14-6, found Michael Young in the back of the end zone for a 6-yard score
  • With the Irish down, 17-14, connected with Miles Boykin for a 55-yard TD with 1:28 remaining to help Notre Dame secure its first victory in a New Year’s Day bowl since the 1994 Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M
  • Book’s first touchdown came early in the fourth quarter. With Notre Dame trailing 14-6, he found freshman wide receiver Michael Young in the back of the end zone for a 6-yard score.
  • Became the seventh consecutive Notre Dame signal caller to win first career start (at North Carolina)
  • First Irish QB to make his first start on the road since Jimmy Clausen at Penn State in 2007
  • First Notre Dame signal caller to win when his first career start came in a road game since Tom Krug won at Air Force, 44-14, in 1995
  • Completed 17 of 31 passes for 146 yards and a TD, while rushing for 45 yards against the Tar Heels
  • Briefly spelled an injured Wimbush against Wake Forest (Nov. 4), going 8-for-8 for 50 yards and a TD

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016)

  • Did not see game action during the season
  • Served as Notre Dame’s fourth-string quarterback
  • Split time between the Irish regulars and the offensive scout team during game preparation
