Notre Dame Advances to Big East Championships

MIAMI, Fla. — The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team advanced to championship match of the Big East Conference tournament on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Rutgers. The Irish will meet Miami in the final on Sunday as the Hurricanes were a 4-0 winner over Providence in the other semifinal. Notre Dame is the defending league champion and also met Miami in last year’s league final .The Irish are 19-4 on the season and are ranked No. 13 in the country.

Sophomore Brian Patterson was a winner for the Irish in both singles and doubles against the Scarlet Knights while senior Ryan Simme and junior Danny Rothschild also picked up victories in singles.
