No. 20 Notre Dame Defeats Iowa

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’stennis team, ranked No. 20 in the country, improved its record to10-3 on the season with a 7-0 win over Iowa on Friday afternoon. TheHawkeyes fall to 6-3.

The Irish were led by freshman Ryan Sachire, who was a 6-1, 6-2winner at No. 1 singles over Tom Derouin of Iowa. Sachire is rankedNo. 50 in the country in singles, and has a 6-2 record in No. 1singles action this season and has an overall mark of 28-6.

Winners in both doubles and singles for the Irish on Fridayincluded: Sachire, senior Ryan Simme, juniors Jakub Pietrowski andEric Enloe and sophomore Brian Patterson.
