Notre Dame, Ind. – Alan Wasielewski, Bo Rottenborn and Susan McGonigal have been promoted within the Notre Dame sports information office. Wasielewski, who is in his third year as an assistant sports information director and fifth year overall in the Notre Dame sports information office, will serve as managing editor of the athletic department’s official website, www.und.com. In addition, he will continue to handle the day-to-day publicity efforts with the Irish men’s soccer and softball teams. A South Bend native and 2000 Notre Dame graduate, Wasielewski worked as a student assistant in the sports information office during the 1999-2000 school year. He moved into a publicity assistant position after graduating from Notre Dame in 2000 and worked as a full-time member of the office for two years. Wasielewski also wrote for The Observer student newspaper in 1998-99, covering the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams and the men’s basketball team. Bo Rottenborn, sports information assistant during the 2003-04 school year, has been promoted to assistant sports information director. Rottenborn is in his sixth year in the Notre Dame sports information office, his second as a full-time staff member. The Salem, Ohio native graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame, and will serve as the primary contact for six sports (women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s lacrosse), in addition to helping with the day-to-day operation of the office. McGonigal, who has worked in the sports information office since 1978, has been promoted to senior administrative assistant. She handles all of the day-to-day administrative duties within the sports information office as associate athletic director John Heisler’s chief assistant. In addition to her responsibilities within the Irish sports information office, McGonigal serves as vice chairman of the Notre Dame Staff Advisory Council. She also is a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Women’s Issues, the SAC Promotions Committee and the Benefits Committee.
