Showdown At Schottenstein Center Set

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame hockey team will load the buses and head to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend for a pair of contests against Ohio State University, Nov. 18-19. The tilts will mark the third-straight weekend the 20th-ranked Irish have gone head-to-head for a top-20 matchup as they are set to take on the 12th-ranked Buckeyes.

Puck drop at Value Center Arena inside the Schottenstein Center is set for 7 p.m. Friday night before a 5 p.m. start the following evening to conclude the weekend series.

  • In their most recent series, the Irish split a pair of home tilts with third-ranked Michigan. After dropping night one’s contest, Note Dame bounced back to defeat the Wolverines in overtime Saturday for the weekend split.

  • Last season, Landon Slaggert led the team with five points (2-3-5) against the Buckeyes. His career-high three-point night (1-2-3), lifted the Irish to an overtime victory as he had a hand in each of the team’s goals that night.
  • Ryder Rolston and Nick Leivermann also had success against the Buckeyes, tallying four points each in the four-game series. Rolston net two goals and two assists in his sophomore season against Ohio State while Leivermann had a goal and three assists.
