AS A JUNIOR (2015): ACC Academic Honor Roll … saw action in a career-high 51 games, adding a career-high 48 starts in right field … established collegiate bests with a .310 batting average, 39 hits, 16 RBI, a .383 on-base percentage and 26 runs scored … batted .306 with runners in scoring position, and drove in seven of 16 RBI with two outs … finished the season with eight multi-hit games, and chipped in three multi-RBI outings … batted .375 with 21 hits, seven RBI, a .453 on-base percentage and 13 runs in 22 ACC games … added first two career assists and a career-high 59 putouts in right field … logged first hit of the season during an upset win at No. 6 UCLA (Feb. 6) … went 2-for-2, smashing first career home run during a win over UNLV (Feb. 20) … added an RBI single and a run scored in a win against No. 25 Texas (Feb. 21) … RBI single in win over No. 20 Missouri (Feb. 27) … logged an RBI hit at North Carolina Central (March 11) … 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a run scored in game two of an ACC doubleheader against Georgia Tech (March 21) … RBI single in home victory over IPFW (March 25) … logged three hits, two RBI and two runs scored in ACC doubleheader sweep of No. 24 Virginia Tech (March 29) … combined 6-for-9 (.667) with three RBI and two runs scored in ACC sweep of Pittsburgh (April 3-4) … logged three hits and scored a total of four runs in Strikeout Cancer series against Syracuse (April 18-19) … roped a hit and drove in two runs against Toledo (April 22) … career-high three hits and two runs scored in a win over North Carolina (April 26) … had two RBI and scored a pair of runs in a run-rule win at Michigan State (April 28) … 3-for-4 with two runs scored against Ball State (May 16) during the NCAA South Bend Regional.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): ACC Academic Honor Roll … emerged as a key piece in the Notre Dame outfield during sophomore campaign, batting a career-high .295 with five doubles, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored in 33 games (28 starts) … added three stolen bases and a .371 on-base percentage … contributed a total of five multiple-hit games, which included one three-hit contest … batted .429 (9-for-21) with two doubles in leadoff situations … reached base in all three plate appearances, ripping two hits and adding an RBI in first start of the season against North Dakota State (Feb. 8) at the Auburn Plainsman Invitational … went a combined 4-for-7 (.571) with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in a pair of wins over Jacksonville (Feb. 15) and No. 23 Louisville (Feb. 16) at the JU Tournament … logged a career-high three hits, including a double, against California (Feb. 22) during the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic … tied a career-high with two RBI in a win over Fordham (Feb. 28) at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic … closed the tournament with a 2-for-3 day, a stolen base and a run scored against Radford (March 1) … registered first ACC RBI in the final game of a series win at Georgia Tech (March 9) … rocked a two-run, pinch-hit triple during a run-rule home victory over Toledo (April 16) at Melissa Cook Stadium … recorded two base hits, an RBI and a stolen base in three starts at designated player against Long Beach State (May 16-17) and No. 3 UCLA (May 18) during the NCAA Los Angeles Regional.
AS A FRESHMAN (2013): BIG EAST Academic All-Star … batted .257 with a double, triple, three RBI and seven runs scored in 26 games (seven starts) during first season with the Irish … was the second-toughest player to strike out (11.67 K average) in 2013 … took first career at-bat after entering at designated player against Wisconsin (Feb. 9) … logged first start, hit and double at Notre Dame later in the day at Charlotte (Feb. 9) … picked up first RBI on an infield single against No. 16 Washington (Feb. 15) … registered first career multi-hit game at San Diego State (Feb. 16) … stole only base of the season and scored a run in a start against Liberty (Feb. 24) … chipped in a pinch-hit single and scored one run versus New Mexico State (March 10) … added a single and a run scored in a victory over Iona (March 15) … scored another run as a pinch runner the following day against the Gaels (March 16) … laced first career triple and added two RBI in the home opener at Melissa Cook Stadium against Green Bay (March 28) … connected on a pinch-hit single in the first game of a doubleheader against Rutgers (April 14) … contributed a base knock after entering as a reserve in the outfield at Pittsburgh (April 21).
PREP AND PERSONAL: Four-year softball standout for Andover Central (Kan.) under head coach Rita Frakes … four-time all-conference selection … received ESPNHS All-America second team outfield recognition after her senior season … named all-state, all-county, all-region, all-city and team captain as a junior … led Andover Central to a regional title in 2011 … hit .543 with four home runs while getting on-base at a .614 rate … posted a 1.014 slugging percentage as a junior … 2011 Wendy’s Heisman Trophy Winner … the fourth Kansas native to don the blue and gold for the Irish behind Tara King (1997-98), Jenna Knudson (1993-96) and Jarrah Myers (1999-2002) … daughter of Jim and Teresa Sorlie … has two younger brothers, Colton and Matthew … grandfather, Richard Clarkson, played football at Cal State Fullerton … involved in Young Life, National Honor Society, Friends of Rachel and Habitat for Humanity … graduated from the Mendoza College of Business with a degree in accountancy.
