AS A FRESHMAN: Member of the first novice eight boat for the spring season with the Irish…helped the Irish boat finish second place against Michigan State in the opening event with a final time of 8:06.59…sat in with the same boat the following day against Indiana and Purdue, crossing the finish line in 6:15.40 and earning the race victory of the Hoosiers and Boilermakers…helped her boat earn a two-race split at the regatta at Ohio State…in the morning session, helped the first novice eight boat finish in 6:59.13 and finish second to the host Buckeyes…the same crew was able to shave nearly six seconds off of its morning time in earning the race victory over Minnesota in 6:53.80 in the afternoon session…helped row novice eight boat to qualifying heat victory at the BIG EAST Championships in 7:24.704…helped same boat earn a silver medal in the grand finals as they crossed the finish line in 7:08.309…at the South/Central Sprints, placed fifth in the petite finals as a member of the novice eight boat (6:42.80)… the boat finished in fourth in the prelims (6:52.11) and sixth in the semifinal heat (6:43.50)…took part in the varsity eight race at the Head of the Rock as a member of the Notre Dame ‘E’ boat, helping to cross the line with a time of 21:02.30…pulled double-duty as she was a member of the Notre Dame ‘B’ boat which raced in the novice eight competition later in the day at Head of the Rock…crew was able to earn a 5th place finish with a final race time of 19:29.50…crewed on the Notre Dame ‘A’ boat at the Southland Regatta, helping her crew stop the clock at 20:47.16.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Competed for the swim team at Valparaiso High School under the tutelage of Pete Sattler… competed in the 100m breaststroke and the 200m IM…lettered in each of her four seasons on the team…was a member of the National Honor Society and also was a member of the Key Club…born in Valparaiso, Ind. on September 25, 1989…daughter of Tim and Susan Gergely…has one sibling, Alex…mother, Susan, graduated from Notre Dame in 1988…currently enrolled in the First Year of Studies.
