PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Notre Dame seniors Scott Rodgers (Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur) and Grant Krebs (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary’s) have earned men’s lacrosse weekly honors from the BIG EAST Conference. Rodgers, a goalie, was named the league’s defensive player of the week for the second time this season, while Krebs, a midfielder, was selected to the weekly honor roll.

Rodgers made 13 saves and allowed just five goals in 51:22 of action in a 13-6 win at St. John’s on Saturday. It marked the seventh time this season that Rodgers had made at least 10 saves in a single game. The win improved his season record to 6-3 and his career mark to 21-4. Rodgers boasts a 7.88 goals-against average and a .586 save percentage this season.

Krebs spearheaded the Irish attack against St. John’s as he tallied his fourth hat trick of the season. He scored all three goals in succession in the second quarter (just 3:31 apart) to give Notre Dame a 6-2 lead at halftime. Krebs now has 20 goals this season, which marks the third straight season that he has tallied at least 20 goals. This was his second honor roll selection of the season.

Villanova’s Paul Webber was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. Joining Krebs on the honor roll were Andrew Brancaccio (Georgetown, Sr., M), Christian Dzwilewski (Providence, So., GK), Cody Jamieson (Syracuse, Sr., A) and Joel White (Syracuse, Jr., LSM).

The 12th-ranked Fighting Irish (7-5, 2-3) will conclude the regular season against No. 2 Syracuse (11-1, 4-0) at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, May 1 at Arlotta Stadium. The BIG EAST showdown will be aired live on ESPNU.
