Former University of Notre Dame quarterback Rick Mirer is scheduled to appear live on this weekend’s Notre Dame Football Friday Live radio show at the Waterford Estates. The show runs for one hour from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, just hours before the Irish face UCLA in Notre Dame Stadium.

Notre Dame Football Friday Live is broadcast from Waterford Estates each Friday of Notre Dame’s home football schedule. You can hear the show locally in the South Bend area on 97.7 FM and worldwide on und.com.

Mirer will be joined on the show by host Jack Nolan and consensus All-American Mirko Jurkovic – who was a key member of the offensive line during Mirer’s stint under center at Notre Dame.

Mirer signed with Notre Dame out of nearby Goshen High School and earned four monograms, completing 377 of 698 passes for 5,997 yards and 41 touchdowns. During his tenure as Notre Dame’s starting quarterback, the Irish were 29-7-1 (.797) and finished ranked in the national top 15 all three seasons. Mirer also rushed for 17 touchdowns during his Notre Dame career.

Mirer was the No. 2 overall selection by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1993 NFL Draft and was named the NFL offensive rookie of the year, throwing for 2,833 yards and 12 touchdowns. He eventually appeared with seven NFL teams – Seattle, Chicago, Green Bay, New York Jets, San Francisco, Oakland and Detroit. Over his NFL career, he completed 1,088 of 2,043 passes for 11,969 yards and 60 touchdowns.
