Reaney Swims In Two B Finals At Phillips 66 National Championships

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving standout Emma Reaney took 11^th in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championship Trials last week in Indianapolis, Ind.

The rising junior swam in the “B” finals of both long course events over two days. She placed 10^th in the prelims (1:09.24) of the 100 breast before placing third in the “B” finals and 11^th overall in the finals (1:09.07). After qualifying 11^th in the 200 IM prelims (2:16.26) the Lawrence, Kan., native took third in the “B” finals (2:15.37) and 11^th overall on the final day of competition. Forty of the top swimmers in the country competed in the 200 IM, with the top 24 moving on to the “A”, “B” and “C” finals. Thirty-five swimmers participated in the 100 breast.

Fellow All-American Kelly Ryan joined Reaney in Indianapolis. Ryan competed in the prelims of the 50, 100 and 200 back. Junior Bridget Casey qualified to swim in the 200 fly, but a minor injury forced her to pull out of the meet.

The 2013-14 schedule should be released by the end of the summer with the season set to kickoff in mid-October.
