Quinton and Russo Earn ACC Player of the Week Honors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – After a 2-0 week that included a road win over No. 9 Clemson on Saturday, Philip Quinton and Daniel Russo both earned ACC honors.

Quinton was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, leading the backline to back-to-back clean sheets in wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and Clemson. The center back scored his second goal of the season in the win over Purdue Fort Wayne.

Russo received ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week accolades. The forward scored a goal in both games last week, including the match winner against the Tigers on Saturday in the 64th minute. The sophomore opened his 2021 account with Notre Dame’s second goal of the game against Purdue Fort Wayne in the 4-0 win. Russo now has two goals and four assists on the season.

The Irish are back home at Alumni Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 16 with a pivotal ACC match against No. 8 Pitt. The contest will air on ACCN.
