Notre Dame Women’s Basketball
Notre Dame vs. South Florida
January 12, 2010 – Purcell Pavilion, Notre Dame, Ind.

Notre Dame Head Coach Muffet McGraw

On the game in general…
“I thought that was going to be a difficult game with the Connecticut game kind of looming in the background a little bit, and with the media so nicely continuing to talk about it and having us to read about it. I thought overall our veteran team at the end found a way to win. I thought we kept our poise down the stretch, and I thought we did some great things. Natalie Novosel was a huge spark off the bench, and they had a tough time guarding (Lindsay) Schrader, who had a fantastic game. I thought (Ashley) Barlow did a good job on the boards, and Skylar (Diggins)’s pressure was key.”

On 19-3 run in last minutes…
“I thought Natalie (Novosel) was key in that run. She made the three-pointer and a driving layup and a couple of offensive rebounds. They missed some shots and made some good defensive plays and were able to rebound. I would say it was mostly the rebounding and we got great shots.”

On being difficult in switching gears from Villanova to South Florida…
“Well, Villanova moved quite a bit and didn’t put the ball on the floor. There was a lot of player movement and this was the exact opposite, which was just one-on-one driving the ball (to the basket). We’re not really good at containing the ball. As a team that is probably one of our weaknesses.”
