WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team stands in sixth place at the William & Mary Invitational, heading into Sunday’s final round.

Junior captain Shane Smith equaled her career-best round with a four-over 75 at Ford’s Colony Country Club, placing her in a four-way tie for third behind Meghan Adams of James Madison and Holly Corbin of William & Mary (both 73).

The Irish six just one stroke behind Yale and three behind Winthrop heading into Sunday’s final 18 holes. JMU (309) holds the team lead, followed by the host school (313) and Princeton (316).

Notre Dame sophomore Lauren Fuchs and junior Danielle Villarosa–who is playing as an individual entrant–are among six players that are tied for 13th, after opening with rounds of 79.Junior Becca Schloss (82), sophomore Kristin McMurtrie (85) and junior Mary Klein (88) rounded out the Irish contingent.

Full individual standings were not available as of Saturday night.
