The University of Notre Dame volleyball team has announced several corrections and time clarifications for its 1998 schedule. Most notably, the BIG EAST Conference Tournament will remain a six-team event and will be played on Nov. 21-22 at the University of Pittsburgh’s Fitzgerald Fieldhouse. The tournament tentatively had been scheduled to expand to eight teams, with first-round matches at home sites on the 21st and 22nd and the semi-finals and finals at Pittsburgh on the 28th and 29th, but the change did not gain the needed approval by the BIG EAST presidents.

The season-opening match at Valparaiso now has a starting time of 7:00 p.m. while the Oct. 10 match at Fairfield has been changed from a 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. start. The Nov. 14 match at Pittsburgh has been moved up from a 2:00 to 1:00 p.m. start.
