NOTRE DAME, Ind. – One of the best rivalries in NCAA women’s basketball will be put on hold. Notre Dame and UConn have agreed to restructure their four-year deal and will postpone the series to next year due to scheduling limitations put in place because of Covid-19.
Notre Dame and UConn were originally going to kick off their new four-year deal this season, but will now add it to the 2024-25 season instead.
The last season in which the schools did not play in the regular season was 2013-14, the first season after UConn joined the American Athletic Conference. The last time the two sides went an entire season without playing, including the postseason, was the 1993-94 season.
