HOUSTON, Texas — Coming off a solid victory against the Northwestern Wildcats on the road, the 7-1 and 16th-ranked Notre Dame men’s tennis team travels down to Houston Texas for the ITA National Indoor Championships this weekend. Their first opponent is Virginia, the No. 1 seed in the tournament and ranked 1st in the country.

Notre Dame advanced to the championship after a pair of 4-3 wins against Minnesota and then No. 8 Kentucky. This is their first time to the championship since 2008.

The Virginia Cavaliers are the defending champions of the tournament, having won five of the last six ITA National Indoor Championships. Their record on the season is 4-0.

The Irish will play Virginia tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at the Galleria Tennis and Athletic Club. Depending on match results, they will play either California or Mississippi State the following day.
