Notre Dame Tennis Players at the Rolex Nationals

DALLAS, Texas – Notre Dame junior men’s tennis player Ryan Sachire and sophomore women’s tennis player Michelle Dasso both won a pair of consolation matches at the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the third leg of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association collegiate grand slam. The wins advance Dasso and Sachire to the consolation semifinals on Saturday.

Third-ranked Sachire beat the small college champion Mario Toledo of Georgia Perimeter 6-0, 6-1 and won 6-2, 6-4 over Tulsa’s 53rd-ranked Nenad Toroman to reach the semifinals. He next will face TCU’s sixth-ranked Esteban Carril.

Dasso beat Arkansas’ 43rd-ranked Tara Reid 6-3, 6-1 and 13th-ranked Ditta Huber of USC 6-3, 7-6 (7-1). The 23rd-ranked Dasso will take on 32nd-ranked Amanda Augustus of California in the semifinals of the consolation on Saturday.
